A. 
All full-time and regular part-time City employees, not covered by a collective bargaining agreement, except the Police and Fire Department personnel, shall be granted holidays with pay at the rate fixed for such employees respectively on each of the following 11 legal holidays:
(1) 
New Year's Day.
(2) 
Martin Luther King Day.
(3) 
Presidents Day.
(4) 
Patriots Day.
(5) 
Memorial Day.
(6) 
Independence Day.
(7) 
Labor Day.
(8) 
Columbus Day.
(9) 
Veterans Day.
(10) 
Thanksgiving Day.
(11) 
Christmas Day.
B. 
Sunday holidays shall be celebrated on the following Monday. Saturday holidays shall be celebrated on the preceding Friday.
In the event that a nonexempt employee shall be required to work on said holiday, his or her compensation shall be at 1 1/2 times his or her regular straight-time pay for all hours worked on such holiday. At the direction of the department head, the employee may elect to earn compensatory time for the time worked on the holiday.
