[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of Tyrone 7-7-1958 by Ord. No. 568 as part of Ch. 6 of the 1958 Code; amended in its entirety at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I). Subsequent amendments noted where applicable.]
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to set off, fire or make use of for any purpose any firearms, squibs, pellet guns, air rifles, rockets, pistols or hollow canes or any toy used for exhibition purposes within the Borough of Tyrone, provided that this chapter shall not apply to the sale of blank cartridges to a military or semimilitary organization and the use thereof in firing salutes. Indoor small-bore range rifle ranges shall be permitted for instructional or competitive purposes when the same are operated and supervised by a responsible organization.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine or penalty of not more than $1,000, plus the costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment thereof, to imprisonment for not more than 30 days in jail. Each day's continuance of violation shall constitute a separate offense.
