In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq., the position of Chief Financial Officer of this municipality is hereby created. The term of office shall be for four years.

The Chief Financial Officer shall be a municipal finance officer who has been certified as such in accordance with the procedures, rules and regulations of the Division of Local Government Services of New Jersey. The position of Chief Financial Officer is created in order to carry out responsibilities, duties and obligations set forth in N.J.S.A. 52:27BB-26 et seq.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be compensated in accordance with the local Municipal Salary Ordinance. Said Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council.
