The Muncy Shade Tree Commission shall be composed of five residents
of the Borough of Muncy. All members of the Commission shall be appointed
by the Council.
A.
Council shall appoint Commission members to five-year terms. All
members of the Commission may be reappointed to the Commission at
the expiration of their terms.
B.
Vacancies occurring on the Commission shall be filled by Council.
Persons appointed to fill a vacancy shall serve for the unexpired
term. The members shall be appointed to staggered terms so that one
term expires each year.
The Borough of Muncy shall advertise for vacant positions on
the Commission. Such advertisement shall appear no less than 15 days
prior to the Muncy Borough Council meeting at which an appointment
is to be made.
The Commission shall have exclusive custody and control of public
shade trees and is authorized to plant, remove, replace, maintain,
protect and care for public shade trees of the Borough. The Commission
may make and enforce rules and regulations for the care and protection
of the shade trees in the Borough.
