[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the Township
of North Versailles 5-13-1974 by Ord. No. 696 (Ch. 12, Part 1, of the
1987 Code of Ordinances). Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Board of Commissioners of the Township of North Versailles
does hereby establish a public library to be known as "The North Versailles
Public Library," to provide free public library services, and the
said North Versailles Public Library is hereby authorized to act as
an agency of the Township of North Versailles, to provide free public
library services to the residents and taxpayers of the Township for
and on behalf of the Board of Commissioners of the Township of North
Versailles.
The Board of Commissioners of the Township of North Versailles
shall operate and maintain, and assist in the operation and maintenance
of the said North Versailles Public Library, in accordance with the
provisions of the Library Code adopted by Act of June 14, 1961, P.L.
324.[1]

A.
The Board of Commissioners of the Township of North Versailles, in
accordance with the provisions of Article IV of Section 411 of the
Library Code,[1] shall designate seven persons to serve as its representatives
on the Board of Library Directors of the North Versailles Public Library,
with each representative to serve a term of three years, with two
or more terms expiring in successive years, and have all the powers,
duties and authority set out under the provisions of said Library
Code.

B.
Under Article IV of Section 413 of the Library Code,[2] the said Library Board shall designate a Treasurer of
the Board of Library Directors of said library agency, and shall give
bond to the Township of North Versailles with satisfactory surety
in such an amount as the Library Board may determine.

C.
The Board of Library Directors shall prepare and present to the Board
of Commissioners of the Township of North Versailles, by November
1 of each year, and shall furnish and file such reports as are required
under Article IV, Sections 413 and 414, of the Library Code.[3]

D.
The said North Versailles Public Library, through its Board of Library
Directors, shall give free library service to the residents and taxpayers
of the Township of North Versailles.
