The Town Board of the Town of Martinsburg finds that certain
key elective positions within the Town such as the Town Clerk would
benefit from a longer term of office so as to provide greater continuity
for the Town. This position requires a greater amount of skill and
knowledge than other elective offices of the Town and therefore there
is a greater need for a longer term. It is the purpose of this article
to expand the term of office for the Town Clerk from two years to
four years.
The Town Board of the Town of Martinsburg hereby states that
henceforth the term of office for the Town Clerk shall be four years.
