All employees of the Office of Building, Zoning and Planning
Administration and Enforcement shall be in the classified civil service.
The Town Board shall designate and prescribe the duties of the employees
in this office as from time to time may be necessary to accomplish
the purposes of this local law. The Town Board shall also designate
the employee of the office who shall act as Clerk of the various boards,
agencies and advisory committees of the Town dealing with planning
and zoning activities and shall also provide for deputy clerks to
these boards and agencies. The Town Board may also create divisions
within the Office of Building, Zoning and Planning Administration
and Enforcement and give particular responsibility in certain areas
as deemed necessary by the Town Board to employees assigned to a particular
division of the office by the Supervisor.
The salaries of all employees of this office and any divisions
thereof and the moneys for the operation of this office shall be determined
in the same manner as is provided in the annual budget for the salaries
of all other Town employees and offices; provided, however, that where
the duties of the office are increased, altered or diminished by local
law and to the extent that funds are available therefor, appropriate
adjustments may be made by local law in the salaries of the employees
of this office and in the moneys allocated for the operation thereof.
