Editor's Note: This local law was subject to a mandatory referendum and was passed by a majority of the voters at the general election held 11-6-2012.
The purpose of this article is to permit the Town of Corinth to increase the term of office of the Town Highway Superintendent from two years to four years. It is adopted pursuant to New York Municipal Home Rule Law § 10.
The term of office of the Town Highway Superintendent is hereby increased from two years to four years commencing with the term which begins January 1, 2014.
All local laws or ordinances or parts of local laws or ordinances in conflict with any part of this article are hereby repealed. In particular, this article intended to supersede that portion of New York Town Law § 24 which provides for a two-year term of office for the Town Highway Superintendent.
