This program is provided to allow County nonprobationary employees the opportunity to improve/upgrade their knowledge and skills to enable them to better execute their specific job responsibilities.
The County will reimburse 100% of authorized educational expenses upon presentation of proof of successful completion (a grade of "C" or better) of course requirements and receipts and/or canceled checks showing payment of approved costs. This amount shall not exceed $300 for an employee in a fiscal year. [NOTE: Authorized educational expenses shall include only registration, tuition and laboratory fees.]
Any employee who receives this benefit must remain a County employee for at least one year after completing the course or reimburse the County on a pro rata basis.
The County Administrator or his designee will certify that the proposed course of study is job-related.
Each department head must request training funds in his particular budget.
Hours during which the course is taken must not conflict with the employee's working hours.
