The Board of Trustees hereby creates the position of Code Enforcement Officer, whose duties shall include the enforcement of all rules and regulations contained in, and derived from the laws of the State of New York, the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code for the State of New York, the Village laws and Chapter 210, Zoning, for the Village of Castleton-on-Hudson.
The powers of the Code Enforcement Officer shall include authority to issue orders to remedy, appearance tickets, complaints and prosecution of such complaints on behalf of the people of the Village of Castleton-on-Hudson. The powers and duties of the Code Enforcement Officer shall be concurrent with, not exclusive of, the Village Building Inspector relative to the enforcement of Chapter 210, Zoning, of the Village of Castleton-on-Hudson and the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code.
The Code Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees. The compensation for the Code Enforcement Officer shall be as established by the general resolution of the Board of Trustees.
