This chapter shall be known as the "Fair Housing Ordinance."
The Village Board of the Village of Blue Mounds recognizes its
responsibilities under Wis. Stats. § 106.50, endorses the
concepts of fair and open housing for all persons and prohibition
of discrimination as described in Wis. Stats. § 106.50,
and hereby adopts Wis. Stats. § 106.50, as it may be amended
and as if set forth fully herein. The purpose of this chapter is to
protect the welfare, health, peace, dignity, and human rights of the
residents of the Village.
A.
The officials and employees of the Village of Blue Mounds shall assist
in the orderly prevention and removal of all discrimination in housing
within the Village of Blue Mounds by implementing the authority and
enforcement procedures set forth in Wis. Stats. § 106.50.
B.
The Village Clerk/Treasurer shall maintain forms for complaints to
be filed under Wis. Stats. § 106.50, and shall assist any
person alleging a violation thereof in the Village of Blue Mounds
to file a complaint thereunder with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce
Development or Department of Safety and Professional Services, or
its successor, for enforcement of Wis. Stats. § 106.50.
