Editor's Note: This local law also provided that "all ordinances
and resolutions previously adopted by the Township prescribing compensation
for taxes collected and remitted by the Tax Collector are hereby repealed
for taxes levied and assessed on and after January 1, 2014."
The provisions of this Article III shall apply to the person elected as Tax Collector for the Township, and to any person appointed to that office in the event of a vacancy in the office, as provided in the Second Class Township Code (see 53 P.S. §§ 65406 and 66001).
The Tax Collector shall be entitled to receive reimbursement
for those expenses mandated by statute to be paid to the Tax Collector,
as that statute may be amended or revised from time to time (see 72
P.S. § 5511.35). The Tax Collector shall be entitled to
receive fees and charges as authorized in resolutions adopted from
time to time by the Board of Supervisors for items including but not
limited to dishonored checks and certifications of payment.
The Tax Collector shall receive compensation based upon the
taxes which the Tax Collector is authorized to collect and which are
remitted to the Township pursuant to the following schedule:
Under no circumstances shall the compensation paid to the Tax Collector as provided in § 28-7 above exceed 5% of the total taxes collected and remitted in any year.
