The Board shall have power, by resolutions, to authorize inquiries
and investigations to be conducted by the entire body or by any of
its committees in aid of its legislative powers and functions.
The Board may compel the attendance of witnesses and the production
of books, papers or other evidence at any meeting of the Board or
any committee thereof, and for that purpose may issue subpoenas, signed
by the Chairman of the Board or the Chairman of the Committee, and
cause the same to be served in any part of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The presiding officer of the Board or of any of its committees
shall have the power to administer oaths to witnesses.
No person residing outside the Township and subpoenaed as aforesaid
shall be required to respond to the same until mileage and witness
fees, equal to those then established by the Court of Common Pleas,
shall have been first furnished to the witness.
