There is hereby created and established a Greenville Fire Department. The Fire Department shall provide fire protection services to all areas within Village boundaries. The Fire Department shall also include emergency medical responders as defined in § 256.01, Wis. Stats.
The Village Board shall control all financial matters related to the Fire Department and establish policies pertaining to the administration and operation of the Fire Department.

There is hereby created and established the position of Fire Chief of the Greenville Fire Department.
A. 
The Fire Chief shall be appointed by the Board of Fire Commissioners in accordance to § 62.13(3), Wis. Stats., who shall hold their office during good behavior, subject to suspension or removal by the Board of Fire Commissioners for cause.
B. 
The Fire Chief shall supervise and have charge of all Village volunteer firefighters and first responders and Village fire and emergency equipment pursuant to Village policies.
C. 
The Fire Chief shall prepare an annual budget for the Fire Department for review and approval by the Village Board.
The Village Board may designate by resolution one or more Deputy Fire Chiefs on such terms and conditions as the Village Board deems appropriate. A Deputy Fire Chief shall be a Village employee. An EMS Coordinator may be appointed to supervise first responders under the direction of the Fire Chief.
There is hereby created and established the position of Fire Prevention Community Officer. The Fire Prevention Community Officer shall be appointed by the Village Board on such terms and conditions as the Village Board deems appropriate. The Fire Prevention Community Officer shall be a Village employee under the supervision of the Village Administrator.
The Village Board may open such accounts in the name of the Village of Greenville as it deems necessary and advisable for the operation of the Fire Department. Such accounts shall be established in the name of the Village of Greenville consistent with generally accepted accounting principles for municipalities.
