A Planning Commission of the Borough of Hamburg, Berks County, Pennsylvania, is hereby established and created under the provisions of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Act No. 247, approved July 31, 1968.

The said Planning Commission shall consist of seven members, each of whom shall serve for a term of four years computed as of January 1, 1971, and until his successor is appointed and qualified and the terms of the first members shall be so fixed that the term of one member shall be for one year, the term of two members shall be for two years, the term of two members shall be for three years and the term of two members shall be for four years, except that the terms of the first members shall also include the time remaining for the year 1970 after their appointment in accordance with the terms hereof.

Effective as of January 1, 2020, the said Planning Commission shall consist of five members, each of whom shall serve for a term of four years computed as of the date of their then current term and until his or her successor is appointed and qualified.

The Planning Commission established by this Part shall have all the powers and shall perform all of the duties as set forth in the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Act No. 247, approved July 31, 1968, and such other powers and duties as may hereafter be granted it by law.
