[HISTORY: Adopted by the 1977 Town Meeting of the Town of Salem (Ch. 127 of the 1995 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]
GENERAL REFERENCES
Parks and recreation — See Ch. 359.
No person shall consume any liquor or any alcoholic beverage, as these terms are defined in RSA 175:1, in or on:
A. 
Town-owned land, including but not limited to public roads, streets, highways and/or buildings.
B. 
School District-owned land or buildings.
C. 
A private parking lot which is maintained primarily for the benefit of customers.
Fines for violation of the provisions of this chapter, as adopted by the Board of Selectmen, are on file with the Police Department and on the Town of Salem website. Fines shall not exceed the maximum penalty established pursuant to RSA 31:39, III.

The Selectmen and/or School Board in their or its discretion may grant waivers from the provisions of this chapter on special occasions and circumstances so long as adequate safeguards and standards are imposed by the Selectmen and/or the School Board in the terms and conditions of such waivers.
