There is hereby created the position of Supervising Property Clerk for the Township of Lacey.
The duties of the Supervising Property Clerk, under direction, shall include, but not be limited to, supervising employees involved in the receiving, registration, and custody of all lost, stolen, abandoned and unclaimed property coming into the possession of the Police Department or other law enforcement agency; doing related work as required.
To be appointed to the position of Supervising Property Clerk, an individual must meet the following requirements:
A. 
Knowledge of work involving the obtaining, recording, safeguarding and issuing of varied types of equipment, materials and supplies.
B. 
Ability to comprehend established office routines, rules and regulations of a complex nature.
C. 
Ability to organize assigned work and develop effective work methods.
D. 
Ability to give suitable assignments and instructions to individuals and groups, and to supervise the maintenance of records and files.
E. 
Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office or related units.
F. 
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
G. 
Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible as long as they can perform the essential functions of the job after reasonable accommodation is made to their known limitations. If the accommodation cannot be made because it would cause the employer undue hardship, such persons may not be eligible.
The salary for the Supervising Property Clerk shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[1]
