There shall be a Parks and Recreation Department, the Director of which shall be the Director of Parks, appointed and removed by the Parks and Recreation Board as specified in Section 7.2 of the City Charter. The Parks and Recreation Department shall be responsible for the care and maintenance of the City parks and for the administration of recreation programs as may be authorized by the Parks and Recreation Board.
