In order to protect the community and its inhabitants from contagious diseases including, but not limited to, tuberculosis, hepatitis, varicella, measles, mumps, rubella, polio, shingles, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis and influenza, the Department of Community Health and the Environment through its Division of Public Health shall perform the services of testing individuals for such diseases or immunizing individuals against them or counseling individuals on immunizations required for travelers. Such services shall be conducted only under the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and the standing orders of a physician duly licensed by the State of Missouri, as appropriate.

A. 
The Department is authorized to establish fees to recover the costs of tests or immunizations authorized by Section 236.001 as provided in this Section.
1. 
Fees shall be no more than the sum of:
a. 
An administrative fee of twenty dollars ($20.00) to cover the cost of administering a vaccination; and
b. 
A fee for cost of the vaccine administered.
2. 
The Department shall review and recalculate the above fees periodically and repost them promptly at the Department's premises and on its website, as follows:
a. 
The Department shall recalculate the administrative fee during the first five (5) days in January of each year, to ensure that it is based solely on recovering the Department's costs; and
b. 
The Department shall review and recalculate its various vaccine fees during the first five (5) days of January and during the first five (5) days of July of each year, to ensure that such fees are based on the average cost of a dose of a given vaccine based on the costs of that vaccine currently in the Department's inventory.
B. 
The Department is authorized to charge the following fee for travel immunization counseling: Twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
