A certain document, one (1) copy of which is on file in the office of the Building Official of the City of Republic, Missouri, being marked and designated as the International Building Code, 2018 Edition, including Appendix Chapters C, F, G, H, I, K, and N, as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of Republic in the State of Missouri for regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures; by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use; and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use and the demolition of such structures as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefore; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Building Code on file in the office of the Building Official are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this Section, with the following additions, insertions, deletions and changes.

The Building Official shall be the officer charged with the administration and enforcement of the Building Code and this Chapter of the City's Code of Ordinances.

A. 
Any person violating the provisions of this Chapter or of any provision of any Building Code adopted by the City shall upon conviction be subject to a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or incarceration for a term not to exceed one hundred eighty (180) days, or both, at the discretion of the court. Each day that a violation continues after notice has been served shall be deemed the basis for a separate offense.
B. 
Any person who having been served with a notice to correct any violation described herein, and who within ten (10) days after service of said notice fails to correct the same, or who shall continue to violate any provision of the regulations made under authority of this Code after receiving notice thereof shall be subject to a civil penalty of up to five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each day such violation continues.
