It shall be unlawful for any person in this City to occupy or obstruct any street, square, avenue, alley or public sidewalk by the removal of any building or house from one place to another without having first obtained written permission from the Public Works Director.
Contents. Written permission, required by Subsection (A) hereof, shall specify what portion of the square, street, avenue, alley or sidewalk shall be used and for what period of time it may be so used in the removal of the building.

In the case of building demolition, an application for a demolition permit will be completely filled out and turned into the Building Inspector, all fees will have been paid and the following procedure shall be followed before demolition is commenced:
Demolition permit fee. A fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) shall be paid upon the issuance of a demolition permit.
Contract demolition. In addition to the application for a demolition permit, the owner/applicant must present one (1) of the following documents:
A contract signed by the owner of the property and the demolition contractor.
A letter from the owner or legal agent stating agreement to demolish.
Address the presence of asbestos or other harmful materials. If asbestos or other harmful materials are present, the owner/applicant must contact the appropriate agency to determine the extent and proper means of disposal.
Notify the City of Republic, Water Superintendent. All water laterals must be shut off and properly terminated. A representative of the Water Department must authorize the demolition permit.
Notify the City of Republic, Wastewater Superintendent. The owner/applicant is responsible for capping the sewer lateral at the property line. If the structure is on a septic tank, the owner/applicant must present a letter stating such. A representative of the Wastewater Department must authorize the demolition permit.
Notify gas, electric, cable television and telephone companies. Owner/applicant must contact all applicable utility companies and notify of intent to demolish. A representative of all applicable utilities must authorize the demolition permit.
Notify adjacent property owners. The owner/applicant must notify all adjacent property owners. The demolition permit issued by the City of Republic in no way grants permission to trespass. If it is necessary to trespass on adjacent property, written permission must be granted by the property owner(s).
Temporary barriers. Temporary barriers must be placed at sidewalks, alleys, roadways and where pedestrian traffic may come into contact with debris.
Notification of emergency services. The Republic Fire and Police Departments must be notified a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours in advance of demolition.
All construction in the City shall comply with the requirements of Sections 319.200 through 319.207, RSMo., and any amendments thereto, relating to earthquakes and seismic construction requirements.

All applications for commercial building permits shall be accompanied by five (5) sets of construction drawings and specifications in addition to at least three (3) sets of stormwater calculations as required by Chapter 410 of the Subdivision Regulations. All commercial construction documents shall comply with the version of the International Building Code adopted by the City and shall be prepared and stamped by an architect or engineer registered in the State of Missouri.
