(a) 
It shall be unlawful for any person, guardian or parent who is in charge of any child under the age of 16 years to allow or permit such child in his custody to go or be upon any public streets or public places in the township unaccompanied by such child's parent or legal guardian after a certain hour at night subject to provisions in this section.
(b) 
No minor under the age of 12 years old shall loiter, idle or congregate in or on any public street, highway, alley or park between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. unless the minor is accompanied by a parent or a guardian, or some adult delegated by the parent or guardian to accompany the child.
(c) 
No minor under the age of 16 years shall loiter, idle or congregate in or on any public street, highway, alley or park between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m., immediately following, except if a minor is accompanied by a parent or guardian, or some adult delegated by a parent or guardian to accompany a minor child, or if the minor is upon an errand or other legitimate business directed by the parent or guardian.
(d) 
Exception to the curfew hours established in this section is given minors working evenings, in which case they must have a written note from their employer if out after the specified curfew hours.
(e) 
Any person of the age of 16 years or older assisting, aiding, abetting, allowing, permitting, or encouraging a minor under the age of 16 years to violate the provisions of subsections (a) and (b) of this section shall be considered in violation of this article.

Any person who violates the provisions of this article shall upon conviction thereof be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a penalty as provided in section 1-11. The police department may, in regards to violations by minors, refer the matter to the judge of probate for proceedings under delinquent children statutes of the state.
