This article shall be known as the "Vehicle and Traffic Law
of the Town of Amenia."
All trucks, commercial vehicles, tractors, tractor-trailer combinations,
tractor- semitrailer combinations, and/or tractor-trailer-semitrailer
combinations with a total gross weight of 10,000 pounds or more shall
be prohibited from traveling on or over the following streets and/or
highways within the Town:

The restrictions contained in § 113-3 shall not be construed to prevent the delivery or pickup of merchandise or other property along the streets and/or highways from which such vehicles and combinations are otherwise excluded and, in addition, shall not apply to the following vehicles:
A.
Any vehicle owned and operated by a municipality, local or state
government or governmental agency while such vehicle is being engaged
in the performance of official duties; or
B.
Any vehicle owned and operated by a public utility company while
being engaged in the performance of repair, maintenance or installation
work.
C.
Any vehicle engaged in providing emergency health care or treatment
or providing fire protection.
A violation of any provision of this article shall be a violation punishable in accordance with § 121-57D of the Town Code.

A.
The parking of any types of vehicles, including but not limited to
automobiles, trucks, tractor trailers, campers, buses, mobile homes,
motorcycles and/or scooters, shall be prohibited on Mechanic Street
at the following locations.
(1)
Along the east side of Mechanic Street, from the intersection of
Mechanic Street and Route 343, to a point which is 107 feet south
of the stop sign at the intersection of Mechanic Street and Route
343; and
(2)
Along the west side of Mechanic Street from the intersection of Mechanic
Street and Route 343 to a point which is 40 feet south of the southern
edge of the pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of Mechanic Street
and Route 343; and
(3)
The parking of no more than one vehicle shall be allowed on the west
side of Mechanic Street between the point which is located 40 feet
south of the southern edge of the pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection
of Mechanic Street and Route 343 and the telephone pole which is approximately
62 feet south of the southern edge of the pedestrian crosswalk at
the intersection of Mechanic Street and Route 343.
