A. The
City Clerk shall have the following duties:
1. He/she shall keep the journal of the Board, perform all clerical
duties in connection with the administration of the City, have custody
of the ordinances, the official seal and all other records and documents
pertaining to City affairs. He/she shall attend all meetings of the
Board, and have such other and further duties and powers as may be
prescribed by the laws of this State and the ordinances of the City.
2. He/she shall be the Deputy Collector of the City and shall be empowered
to perform all the duties imposed by law or the ordinances of the
City on the City Collector. He/she shall account for all monies received
in the discharge of the duties of that office in the same manner required
of the City Collector.
3. He/she shall be the Assistant to the Finance Manager and the Budget
Director with the powers and authority to act on behalf of the Finance
Manager in his/her absence from the City.
4. The City Clerk shall be ex officio the Deputy Clerk of the Municipal
Court and shall have and perform all of the powers and duties of the
Municipal Court Administrator in his/her absence or unavailability.

The City Clerk shall give bond to the City in the sum of fifty
thousand dollars ($50,000.00) conditioned on the faithful discharge
of the duties of that office, with such surety or sureties and such
terms as may be approved by the Mayor. The cost of such bond shall
be paid out of the General Revenue Fund.

The office of City Clerk shall be a full-time position and the
Clerk shall maintain an office in the City Hall during the hours established
by the Mayor.

The City Clerk shall have such other and further duties and
powers as may be prescribed by the laws of this State and the ordinances
of the City.

Whenever the term "he" or "his" appears in this Article, they shall be taken to mean "she" or "her" as may be applicable.
