As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Any person, firm, organization or corporation who sells tangible
commodities from house to house, store to store or upon City streets
or in any public place and who makes delivery at time of sale.
Any person, firm, organization or corporation seeking to
obtain orders for the purchase of goods, wares, merchandise or services
of any kind, character or description whatever, for any kind of consideration
whatever; or seeking to obtain prospective customers for application
or purchase of insurance of any type or character; or seeking to obtain
subscriptions to books, magazines, periodicals, newspapers and every
other type or kind of publication; or seeking to obtain gifts, donations
or contributions of money, clothing or other valuable things for support
or benefit of any charitable nonprofit association, organization,
corporation or project.
No provision of this chapter shall be applicable to any person licensed as a food vendor, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 578, Peddlers and Vending Units, nor shall this chapter apply to any canvassing or soliciting of a wholly religious or political nature.
No one licensed as a solicitor or canvasser shall engage in
such activity within the City of Camden prior to 10:00 a.m. or after
6:00 p.m. of any weekday or at any time on a Sunday or on a state
or national holiday.
Any licensed peddler, hawker, solicitor or canvasser who shall be guilty of any fraud, cheating or misrepresentation, whether through himself or through an employer, or who shall barter, sell or peddle any goods or merchandise or wares other than those specified in his application for a license shall be deemed guilty of a violation of this chapter and shall be subject to the immediate revocation of license or registration in addition to the penalties provided in § 434-8 of this chapter.

Each licensee under this chapter shall carry the license while
engaged in hawking or peddling, shall show the license to any member
of the Police Department of the City of Camden and shall have his
name and the number of his license painted or posted conspicuously
on the wagon, cart or other vehicle operated under such license.
No person shall place or maintain any vehicle, showcase, cart,
booth, stall, stand or other similar and movable structure or device
for the purpose of displaying merchandise, food or food products for
display or for sale, or for the purpose of making any sale therefrom,
on or over any streets, highways or parks in the City or the sidewalks
thereof.

It shall be unlawful for any person, as defined in § 485-1, to engage in the activity identified and regulated by this chapter, without first having obtained a license therefor and paid the fee required for such license, both as provided in Chapter 485, Licenses and Business Regulations. Any person engaging in such activity who shall fail to comply with any provision of this chapter or of Chapter 485 shall be in violation of the provisions of this chapter.

Unless otherwise provided in the chapter, penalties against persons violating the provisions of this chapter shall be imposed in accordance with the provisions of § 1-15.

A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each and every day
for each and every violation of this chapter.

A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or
on which a violation or violations occur or continue.
