The following words and terms, shall have the meanings hereby respectively
ascribed thereto, except where the context clearly indicates a different
meaning:
See definition of "exotic wildlife" in the Shrewsbury Township Zoning Ordinance [Chapter 27].
Any dog, cat, or other domestic animal normally and ordinarily
kept in or permitted to be at large in the dwelling or property of
its owner, includes small animals as defined below.
See definition of "livestock" in the Shrewsbury Township Zoning Ordinance [Chapter 27].
Any person, firm, partnership, association, company or corporation.
Any domestic animal such as a rabbit, hare, guinea pig, rat,
or chinchilla.

All animals, other than domestic livestock, household pets
and exotic animals as herein defined.
Wild birds, native reptiles, wild mammals, regardless of
classification, whether protected or unprotected, including any offspring
thereof.

In this Section the singular shall include the plural, the plural
shall include the singular and the masculine shall include the feminine.

It is prohibited to own or keep within the Township any exotic wildlife,
wild animals or wildlife identified by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service to be a threatened or endangered, species, unless authorized
by the appropriate authorities.

The Shrewsbury Township Zoning Ordinance [Chapter 27] regulations for the keeping of exotic wildlife within the Township are hereby incorporated by reference and are also to be applied to the keeping of wild animals and wildlife within the Township.
3.
No wild animals or wildlife shall be kept within Shrewsbury Township
unless and until all necessary licenses and permits, to which they
are subject to, shall be obtained from the Pennsylvania Game Commission
or other relevant State department or agency.

The Shrewsbury Township Zoning Ordinance [Chapter 27] regulations for the keeping of livestock and agriculture are hereby incorporated by reference.

Livestock shall be confined in either a building or fenced area sufficient
to prevent such animals from running at large and the enclosure shall
be of a size and location which enables adequate sanitation practices
and prevents surface and groundwater pollution.

If any household pet is kept in an outside enclosure or is permitted
outside the dwelling, the keeper of such pet shall collect the pet
waste or droppings as frequently as necessary to prevent odors from
leaving the property or to prevent the attraction of any vector vermin.

Such pet waste shall be placed in a container or receptacle of such
type that, when closed, it shall be rodent-proof and fly-tight, and
after every such collection, shall be tightly closed. At least once
a week, every such keeper shall cause all litter and droppings, so
collected, to be disposed of in such a manner so as not to constitute
a nuisance to neighboring properties of the public.

It shall be illegal within Shrewsbury Township for any person
to own, possess, harbor or control any exotic wildlife, wild animal,
wildlife, household pet or small animal which barks, bays, cries,
squawks, or makes any other noise at any time of the day or night,
for a continuing period of 30 seconds three times during any 20 minutes,
that annoys or disturbs a reasonable person of normal sensitivities;
provided, however, that at the time the animal or bird is making such
noise no person is trespassing or threatening to trespass upon private
property in or upon which the animal or bird is situated, or for any
other legitimate cause which teased or provoked the animal or bird.

A dog determined to be dangerous under the Pennsylvania Dog
Law, 3 P.S. § 459-101 et seq., as amended, shall be restrained
or otherwise kept in accordance with Article V-A of the Dog Law, 3
P.S. § 459-502A et seq.

Any person who shall violate any provision of this Part, upon
conviction thereof in an action brought before a district justice
in the manner provided for the enforcement of summary offenses under
the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure, shall be sentenced to
pay a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs and, in default of payment
of said fines and costs to a term of imprisonment as set forth in
the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure. Each day that a violation
of this Chapter continues or each Section of this Part which shall
be found to have been violated shall constitute a separate offense.
