Pursuant to the provisions of Section 70.837, RSMo., the Fire Department is authorized to provide mutual aid or assistance to any other public safety agency in this State or in a bordering State.

The Fire Chief may render mutual aid to any requesting agency in accordance with the rules and regulations established pursuant to Section 205.090 of this Code.

The type of mutual aid assistance contemplated to be rendered by this Article III to another public safety agency in this State or in a bordering State is for a significant emergency such as fire, earthquake, flood, tornado, hazardous material incident, or other such disaster.

This Article III shall not be construed to limit or modify any contract for mutual aid entered into by the City pursuant to the provisions of Section 320.090, RSMo.
