[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Meeting of the Town of Norton
5-14-2018 ATM by Art. 20. Amendments noted where applicable.]
In areas external to an approved mobile home park, mobile homes shall be used or parked only as provided in Chapter 175, Zoning, and as set forth below.
A.
The Board of Health may grant a permit for a mobile home to be used
and parked on private property as a residence. Such property shall
be considered to include occupied dwelling lots. The permit shall
be granted for a period not to exceed 30 days in any one year. The
Board of Health may extend the permit for an additional thirty-day
period if requested to do so. Water supply and sewage disposal facilities
for such a mobile home must be approved by the Board of Health.
B.
The Board of Health may grant a permit for a mobile home to be parked
and used for a residence while a house is being constructed on the
same premises. Such a permit shall be valid for one year, but it may
be extended by the Board of Health for one year additional if the
Board is satisfied that construction is being carried forth in good
faith. If the construction ceases to be carried forth in good faith,
the Board shall revoke the permit. The sewage facilities to be provided
for such a mobile home shall be the same as the facilities required
by the Board of Health for a dwelling.
C.
An unoccupied and unused mobile home may be parked on private property.
The maximum number of outstanding mobile home park licenses issued under Chapter 140 of the General Laws shall not at any time exceed the number of said licenses issued by the Board of Health, and in conformity with the applicable Zoning Bylaws as of December 11, 1972.
