It is the desire of the Board of Township Commissioners of the Township of Aleppo, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and the Board of Township Commissioners hereby signifies its intention to organize an Authority under the Municipality Authorities Act of May 2, 1945, P.L. 382, as amended.[1]

The name of the proposed Authority shall be "Aleppo Township Authority."
The following persons are hereby appointed members of the Board of said Authority for the terms of office indicated:[1]

Pursuant to said desire and intention of the Board of Township Commissioners, and in conformance with the terms and provisions of said Municipality Authorities Act of 1945 and its amendments, the proposed Articles of Incorporation are hereby set forth in full as follows:
ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION
OF
ALEPPO TOWNSHIP AUTHORITY
To: The Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
In compliance with requirements of the Municipality Authorities Act of May 2, 1945, P.L. 382, as amended, and pursuant to ordinance adopted by the municipal authorities of the Township of Aleppo, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, signifying their desire and intention to form a Municipal Authority and that a certificate of incorporation be issued to said Authority, the Township of Aleppo does hereby certify:
(a)
The name of the Authority shall be "Aleppo Township Authority."
(b)
The Authority is formed under the Act of May 2, 1945, P.L. 382, as amended.
(c)
No other authority has been organized under the provisions of the Act of May 2, 1945, P. L. 382, as amended, by the Township of Aleppo, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
(d)
The name of the incorporating municipality is the "Township of Aleppo, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania."
(e)
The purpose or purposes of said corporation or municipality authority are to establish, construct, operate, maintain and repair a water and/or sewage system or systems (including waterworks, water supply works, water distribution systems and including sewers, sewage systems, or parts thereof, sewage treatment works and also including works for treating and disposing of industrial waste and facilities and equipment for the collection, removal or disposal of ashes, garbage, rubbish and other refuse materials by incineration, landfill or other method) in Aleppo Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, or adjacent municipalities as from time to time may become necessary or convenient for the citizens and habitants of said Township or adjacent municipalities or any portion thereof, and, to that end, to take, acquire and hold such real estate and personal property either within or without the boundary of said Township that may be necessary to carry out the purposes of said Authority, and to enter into such contract and contracts, agreement and agreements with adjacent municipalities and authorities as may be convenient and necessary to carry out these said purposes.
(f)
The term of its existence is 50 years.

The names, addresses and terms of office of the first members of the Board of said Authority are: [names omitted],[2] all of whom are residents and citizens of the Township of Aleppo, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
(i)
The term of existence of the Aleppo Township Authority is hereby extended 50 years from the date of approval of this amendment by the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The proposed Articles of Incorporation of the said Municipal Authority shall be executed by and on behalf of the Township of Aleppo by the President and Secretary and filed with the Secretary of the Commonwealth. The Solicitor is hereby authorized and directed to cause to be published the notice of intention to file the Articles of Incorporation with the Secretary of the Commonwealth as required by the aforementioned Act.
