Amendments to this Charter may be made in accordance with the
provisions set forth in Title 30-A M.R.S.A. § 2104 and § 2105(2)-(4).
If the majority of ballots cast at an election concerning a
Charter amendment favor acceptance of the amendment, then the Charter
amendment becomes effective on the date determined by the City Council,
but not later than the first day of the next municipal year; provided
that the total number of votes cast for and against the Charter amendment
question equals or exceeds 30% of the total votes cast in the municipality
at the last gubernatorial election.
