[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the Township of Aleppo 9-21-2009 by Ord. No. 2009-2. Amendments noted where applicable.]
A certain document, a copy of which is on file in the office of the Township Manager for the Township of Aleppo, being marked and designated as the "International Fire Code, 2009 Edition," including Appendix Chapter D, and all subsequent editions, as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Fire Code of the Township of Aleppo, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, for regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as herein provided and providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor, and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Fire Code on file in the office of the Township Manager for the Township of Aleppo are hereby referred to, adopted, and made part hereof, as if fully set out in this chapter, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in § 193-2 of this chapter.
The following sections are hereby revised:
A. 
Section 101.1: insert "Township of Aleppo, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania."
B. 
Section 109.3: insert "summary offense," "$1,000" and "30 days."
C. 
Section 111.4: insert "$300" and "$1,000."
All other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Nothing in this chapter or in the Fire Code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding pending in any court or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing under any act or ordinance hereby repealed as cited in § 193-3 of this chapter, nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this chapter.
This chapter is not intended to and shall not be interpreted to conflict with or supersede any provision of the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code, and in all cases where the requirements of the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code impose a higher standard or burden for compliance than the provisions of this chapter, the requirements of the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code shall prevail.
