[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Health of the Township of Morris 12-11-1968 by Ord. No. 22-68 (Ch. 117 of the 1969 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]
No person shall bury or deposit in any grave, tomb or vault, or cremate, the body of any person dying in the Township of Morris or of any child stillborn in this Township without a permit therefor from the Registrar of Vital Statistics of the Township of Morris or, if an undertaker, of the municipality wherein he maintains his official place of business or of the municipality where the burial or cremation is to take place if within the State of New Jersey.
No dead human body shall be disinterred or removed from any grave, tomb or vault without a permit therefor from the Board of Health.
The Board of Health may specify any communicable disease or diseases for the victims of which no public funeral shall be held and prohibit such public funeral and, in case of threat or prevalence of an epidemic, may prohibit such public funeral of persons dying from the particular disease or diseases specified.

A. 
For any search of the files and records of births, deaths or marriages when the correct year only is supplied by the applicant, and a valid photo ID or two other forms of valid ID are presented, the Register of Vital Statistics for Morris Township shall be entitled to:

(1) 
Search and one certified copy of vital records: $25.
(2) 
Additional certified copies: $5 each.[1]

Additional certification copies (for informational purposes only): $10 each.
B. 
The Morris Township Registrar shall:
(1) 
Furnish a certification or certified copy of a birth, marriage, fetal death or death certificate without fee in the prosecution of any claim for public pension or for military or naval enlistment purposes.
(2) 
Furnish without fee upon request for administrative use by any city, county, state or federal agency a certification or certified copy of a birth, death, fetal death or marriage certificate.
C. 
Burial permits: $5.

D. 
Transit permits: $5.

E. 
Marriage license: $28.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not less than $5 nor more than $500.
