The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Ash Grove
shall consist of seven (7) members, including; the Mayor if the Mayor
chooses to be a member, a member of the Ash Grove Board of Aldermen
selected by the Board annually at its first (1st) organizational meeting
if the Board chooses to have a member serve on the Commission and
not less than five (5) citizens appointed by the Mayor and approved
by the Board. The appointment of the citizen members should take into
consideration that all the geographic areas of the City be represented
as much as possible. A current member is eligible to be reappointed
for a new term. The term of each of the citizen members shall be for
four (4) years commencing on July first (1st) of the year of appointment.
The terms shall be set in such a way that each year one (1) citizen
member will complete his/her term. Any vacancy in a membership shall
be filled for the unexpired term by appointment as aforesaid. The
Board may remove any citizen member for cause stated in writing and
after public hearing.

The Commission will reorganize each year at its regular July
meeting. The Commission shall elect its Chairman and Secretary from
among the citizen members. The Commission shall meet on a monthly
basis and special meetings as they provide by rule, and shall adopt
rules for the transaction of business, and keep a record of its proceedings.
These records shall be public records.
