A.Â
To
achieve the City's goal to train, promote and retain the best-qualified
employee for every job, we may conduct periodic performance evaluations
for all positions. The Human Resources Director is responsible for
developing and maintaining the performance evaluation program.
B.Â
Employees
are to be evaluated by his/her department head prior to completion
of their introductory period and at least once every twelve (12) months
thereafter. The evaluation is part of an employee's personnel record
and may be a factor in determining whether the employee receives a
wage increase or is to be promoted, transferred, demoted, laid off
or terminated. The City Administrator is the reviewing officer for
all evaluations.
The City seeks, within the limits of available resources, to
offer training to increase an employee's skills, knowledge and abilities
directly related to employment; to obtain or maintain required licenses
and certifications; and to develop staff resources. Opportunities
may include, but are not limited to, on-the-job training, in-house
workshops, and seminars sponsored by other agencies or organizations.
