[1997 Code § 134-8]
The owner or owners, tenant or tenants of land abutting or bordering
upon the public highways shall remove all grass, weeds, brush or other
impediments from that part of said public highway abutting or bordering
upon their respective lands within three days after notice to remove
the same shall be given by the City Clerk.

Where the owner or owners, tenant or tenants shall refuse or neglect to remove the same in the manner and within the time provided for in Section 134-8 of this Article, then the Superintendent of Public Works of Absecon City shall cause to be removed from said highways all grass, weeds, brush or other impediments, which officer shall certify the cost thereof to the Governing Body, which shall examine the certificate and, if found correct, shall cause the cost as shown thereon to be charged against the lands abutting or bordering said public highways. The amount so charged shall forthwith become a lien upon such lands and shall be added to and become and form part of the taxes next to be assessed and levied upon such lands, the same to bear interest at the same rate as taxes, and shall be collected and enforced by the same officers and in the same manner as taxes.
