Terms used in this Code, unless specifically defined in this Code, have the meanings prescribed by the Illinois Compiled Statutes for the same terms.
As used in this Code, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
CITY
The City of Mendota, Illinois.
CITY CLERK
The City Clerk of the City of Mendota, and similarly any reference to any officer, board or commission means such officer, board or commission of the City of Mendota unless otherwise stated.
CITY COUNCIL or COUNCIL
The City Council of the City of Mendota.
COUNTY
LaSalle County.

The current edition of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, as amended.

PERSON
Any natural individual, firm, partnership, trust, estate, club, association, or corporation. As applied to partnerships or associations, the word includes the partners and the members thereof; as applied to corporations, it includes the officers, agents or employees thereof who are responsible for the act referred to. The singular includes the plural, and the plural includes the singular. The masculine gender includes the feminine and neuter genders.

The State of Illinois.
