Every locomotive engine, railroad car or train of cars running
in the nighttime on any railroad track in the City shall have and
keep, while so running, a brilliant and conspicuous light on the forward
end of such locomotive engine, car or train of cars. If such engine
or train is backing, it shall have a conspicuous light on the rear
car or engine, so as to show the direction such engine, car or train
is moving.
It shall be unlawful for any person or corporation to drive
or shunt any passenger or freight cars across any public street within
the City, at the street grade, without an engine attached to such
car or cars.
