As used in this Chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Any person, partnership, or corporation who, singularly or
in conjunction with others, rents, or leases, or continues to rent
or lease, any real estate or offers real estate for rent or lease
to another person and/or entity.
A self-contained residential home or apartment (or functionally
similar structure) whether or not attached to or incorporated into
any other structure.

No person or entity shall rent, lease or offer to rent or lease
to another person and/or entity any unit of real estate located in
the City of Greendale, unless prior to doing so that person has registered
as a landlord. In the event any landlord acquires additional unit(s)
of rental property or any person or entity becomes the owner of any
unit of rental property, the landlord shall register the additional
property within thirty (30) days of acquiring title. Any person or
entity required to register as a landlord shall do so annually, on
or before July 1 of each year in addition to any other registration
or occupancy permit requirements set out in this Code, and shall file
a new registration in the event that information in the original registration
has changed or if any properties are added or transferred.

A.
There shall be a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each unit registered.

B.
The landlord shall fill out a registration form prepared by the City
which indicates:
1.
All of the rental property owned by property address;
2.
The number of units at each property address;
3.
The name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address of the
owner(s);
4.
The name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address of the
property manager if any;
5.
The name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address of a
person who may be contacted in case of an emergency or if a violation
of this Code is alleged. Such person must be a resident of the City
of Greendale or reside within twenty (20) miles of the property. Such
person may be an owner or property manager.

Any person who fails to register, or renew a registration, within
thirty (30) days of being required to do so, for one or more properties,
shall be guilty of an ordinance violation and shall be fined not less
than one hundred dollars ($100.00) per day. Each subsequent day shall
be considered a separate violation.
