A. 
There is hereby created the position of Village Manager of the Village of Homer Glen, who shall be selected and hired by the Village Board of Trustees.
B. 
The Village Manager shall not be terminated except upon the affirmative vote of the corporate authorities of the Village. The Village President in conjunction with the Village Board of Trustees shall have authority over all disciplinary action of the Village Manager, provided any such action by the Village President shall in all events be reported by the Village President to the Board of Trustees at the next occurring regular or duly convened special meeting thereof. Absent such a report from the Village President or in the event that at such meeting a majority of the Village Board of Trustees votes to object to such action, such action shall be deemed to be rescinded retroactive in all respects to the original date thereof.

In addition to such other duties as may be required from time to time by direction of the Village President, the Village Manager shall have the duties and be subject to the terms and conditions of the position description attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A.[1]
A. 
The Village Manager shall make a recommendation to the corporate authorities with respect to the hiring and appointment of any department head, department director, manager, or superintendent. The hiring and appointment of any department head, department director, manager, or superintendent is subject to the advice and consent of the corporate authorities' discretion and approval prior to the hiring and appointment becoming effective.

B. 
Except as otherwise provided herein, the Village Manager shall have sole authority over all disciplinary actions, up to and including termination, of Village employees. Notwithstanding the forgoing, disciplinary action, up to and including termination, may be administered by the Village Manager or the immediate supervisor of the employee in question, subject to approval of the Village Manager. In the event that Village ordinances or policies do not designate an immediate supervisor for the employee in question, or if an immediate supervisor cannot otherwise readily be determined under the circumstances, the Village Manager shall be deemed to be the immediate supervisor for purposes of this policy, and shall have full authority to administer disciplinary action, up to and including discharge.
C. 
Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection B above, any employee who is hired with the advice and consent of the Village Board shall not be terminated without the consent of the corporate authorities.
