There is hereby established in the City the position of Park
Maintenance Director. Such Park Maintenance Director shall be nominated
by the Mayor and approved by a majority of the voting members of the
City Council. The Park Maintenance Director shall be immediately responsible
to the Park Board.

A.
The
duly appointed Park Maintenance Director shall be responsible for:
1.
Supervising the development and maintenance of the park facilities;
2.
Developing and administering the budget for park maintenance, upkeep
and repair;
3.
With the approval of the Park Board, screening and recommending for
employment applicants seeking positions with the Park Maintenance
Department, including contract laborers;
4.
Recommending policy and practices to the Park Board for efficient
and effective park maintenance, upkeep and repair; and
5.
Becoming involved in any agency program which will keep he/she abreast
of current practices, issues, facilities and programs designed to
more effectively do the job.

In order to be eligible for the position of Park Maintenance
Director, such director must hold an earned Bachelor of Science degree
in recreation and park administration, or a bachelor's degree in a
related field with at least two (2) full years of administrative experience
in recreation; or otherwise have such experience and training in park
and recreation administration or a related field as may be deemed
appropriate by the Mayor and City Council of the City. The salary
shall be set by the Park Board, subject to the approval of the Mayor
and City Council.

The Director of Park Maintenance shall continue to hold his/her
job until his/her resignation is accepted or he/she is terminated
by the Park Board.
