No sign, device, building, fence or other obstruction shall
be placed on or over any part of the right-of-way of any public street
or road within the Village limits excepting those signs, signals or
other devices intended to control speed, warn of hazards or give directions
to pedestrians and/or motorists, and which are installed at the direction
of the Board of Trustees of the Village.

Mailboxes of a type approved by and installed according to the
directives of the United States Postal Department are excepted from
this Article, providing they are placed far enough off the pavement
or other driving surface so as not to interfere with or obstruct the
view of the road for motorists.
