A. 
Cass County maintains approximately nine hundred forty-three (943) miles of County roads for snow removal. The State of Missouri takes care of major roads such as 71 Highway, 7 Highway, A Highway, D Highway, BB Highway and many more highways.
B. 
It requires approximately twenty-seven (27) hours for the County Road and Bridge Department to clear snow from one (1) lane of all the roads after it stops snowing.

A. 
Remember, snow removal equipment has the right-of-way.
B. 
Stay at least one hundred (100) feet behind all snow removal equipment.
C. 
Parking is prohibited on any County roadway and right-of-way.
D. 
Private snow removal operators are prohibited from pushing snow onto any County maintained road, including homeowners cleaning off driveways.

A. 
Main arterial roads that are hard surfaced will be plowed first (1st) after at least four (4) inches of snow have accumulated on the roadway. Plowing will take place starting before four (4) inches of snow if there is major drifting.
B. 
Gravel roads will be plowed after at least four (4) inches of snow have accumulated on the roadway. Plowing will take place starting before four (4) inches of snow if there is major drifting.
C. 
Subdivision roads may be plowed after at least four (4) inches of snow have accumulated and all the main roads have two (2) lanes cleared.
D. 
The County is prohibited from towing privately owned vehicles that are stranded on or off the roadway.
E. 
Cass County will not be responsible for replacing mailboxes that were not installed per the guidelines of the U.S. Postal Service.
F. 
In order to make the most use of available resources, it is necessary to establish priorities using the assumption that the severity of a storm is not beyond the normal capabilities of the County's snow removal resources. Deviation will occur across the County just as the severity of the snowstorm varies across the roads in the County.
G. 
Road and Bridge Department will do Justice Center parking lot as time becomes available.
H. 
Material spreading or plowing of any roadways may be stopped at any time to return to higher priority roadway to respread or plow, if conditions warrant.
I. 
Bridge decks rarely become slippery without the roadway also becoming slippery. Bridge traction condition is substantially the same as the roadways.
J. 
County, in a case of extreme emergency, may provide necessary assistance such as opening a driveway to give access to the emergency crews.
