All buildings erected in the City shall bear an identification, commonly known as a "house number", which number shall serve to identify said building as to its location in the block in which it is situated, and the relative position of said building in said block.

All buildings fronting on public streets and avenues of the City shall be numbered in conformity with the numbering map of the City on file in the office of the Building Inspector.

The numbers shall be at least four (4) inches tall and shall be placed adjacent to the front entry door on the building or porch. Numbers shall be of a contrasting color to the background color to which they are affixed. Numbers on the curbing will be permitted, but only in addition to the numbers on the building.

The expense incurred in compliance with this Article shall be borne by the party placing the number.
