As provided for by the Judicial Code, 42 Pa.C.S.A. § 8902,
that the following guidelines are promulgated to be followed by officers
of the Exeter Township Police Department.
A.
A warrantless arrest is permitted for the following summary offenses
of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code:
Section 5503 (Disorderly conduct)
Section 5505 (Public drunkenness)
Section 5507 (Obstructing highways or other public passages)
Section 6308 (Purchase, consumption, possession or transportation
of liquor, malt or brewed beverages)
B.
Such arrests are to be made when, based on the observations of a
law enforcement official, probable cause exists to believe that there
is ongoing conduct that imperils the personal security of any person
or endangers public or private property, such as if the defendant
poses an immediate threat of physical harm or injury to any other
person or to himself or herself.
