[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of

No person, other than a duly appointed police officer, while
in the performance of his/her official duties, shall fire or discharge
any firearm within the residentially built up Mount Gretna Borough.
Nothing herein contained shall prohibit the use of firearms
as hereinafter defined:
A.
Any person licensed to hunt in this commonwealth and engaged in hunting
as defined and regulated by the Pennsylvania Game and Wildlife Code,
(34 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq., as amended);
B.
Any person over the age of 18 using a firearm to control wildlife
and protect cultivated crops, fruit trees, vegetables, livestock,
poultry or other property; provided, however, that such use of the
firearm shall comply with the requirements of Pennsylvania Game and
Wildlife Code.
C.
Any person who discharges a firearm in defense of his or her person
or property.
Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall,
upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than
$600 and the cost of proceedings.
