City of Lower Burrell, PA Article III Fines Deducted from Salary of Council Members

§ 90-6 Fine for neglect or refusal to perform duties.

A. If any person, having qualified as a member of City Council, shall neglect or refuse to:

(1) Attend four successive advertised agenda, regular or special meetings, unless detained by sickness, or prevented by necessary absence from the City, caused by work or other matter, and fail to communicate the same to another member of City Council; or

(2) Act in his or her official capacity as a member of City Council or otherwise neglect or refuse to perform the executive or administrative duties of his or her department under Section 1101 of the Third Class City Code;[1] then

B. Such Councilperson shall automatically have his or her monthly salary assessed and retained as a reasonable fine for such neglect or refusal.

§ 90-7 Medical excuse.

Council may require a medical excuse for alleged sickness or employer excuse for work absence.
