All registered members of volunteer Fire Companies or volunteer
Fire Departments of the Borough of North East, County of Erie and
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, are hereby declared to be employees
of the Borough of North East in accordance with that certain act known
and cited as the "Pennsylvania Workmen's Compensation Act," to
which reference may be had as if fully incorporated herein.
All members of the volunteer Fire Companies or volunteer Fire
Departments of the Borough of North East, County of Erie and Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania, are hereby declared to be employees of the Borough
of North East while performing any other duties of such Companies
or Fire Departments authorized by the Borough.
The authorization for such duties, which may include fund-raising
and all activities in connection therewith, attendance at conventions,
participation in parades, gatherings and meetings for social and instructional
purposes and such other duties and activities as may from time to
time be necessary shall be evidenced in writing bearing the signature
of the Secretary of the Borough of North East and issued upon request
therefor by the respective volunteer Fire Companies and volunteer
Fire Departments.
The request for authorization herein set forth shall be in writing,
directed to the Borough of North East and signed by the registered
member of the volunteer Fire Company or volunteer Fire Department
in charge thereof.
The Secretary for the Borough of North East is hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to issue authorizations as herein provided
upon receipt of the request therefor as herein set forth for the performance
of such duties by the respective volunteer Fire Companies and volunteer
Fire Departments of the Borough of North East, which shall include
fund-raising and all activities in connection therewith, attendance
at conventions, participation in parades, gatherings and meetings
for social and instructional purposes and such other duties and activities
as may from time to time be necessary.
