On or before April 1, 1909, all owners of property in the Borough
of North East shall establish and thereafter maintain upon all residences
and places of business in said Borough street numbers which shall
conform to the requirements of the Uniform Construction Code, using
Arabic numerals or alphabet letters at least four inches high, with
a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch, and of a color which contrasts
with the immediate background. Where access is by means of a private
road and the building cannot be viewed from the public way, a monument,
pole or other sign or means shall be used to identify the structure.
The Borough Secretary will upon application furnish said property
owners with the number or numbers required for their property.
Property shall be numbered east and west from Lake Street and
north and south from Main Street, even numbers on the north and east
sides, and odd numbers on the south and west sides of all streets.
In the two sections of the Borough known as the "fire limits,"
each distance of 20 feet shall be allowed one number. In all other
portions of the Borough, an allowance of 40 feet shall be made.
