The Village of New Haven ("Village"), as authorized under MCLA
§ 67.1(y), shall have the authority to investigate any matter
under the jurisdiction of the Village and that is vested in the Village
Council or any Village officer. The Village Council, by majority vote,
may cause a subpoena that has been authorized by a court of proper
jurisdiction in Macomb County to be served on a person compelling
that person to appear before the Village Council or any committee
of the Village Council to be examined under oath or to produce a document
or object for inspection or copying.
Any person who objects to or otherwise fails to comply with the written notice as described above in § 23-12 may be subject to a court action to enforce the subpoena. The court may issue its own order and failure to comply with the court order may result in contempt.
