[R.O. 2004 § 425.010; Ord. No. 01-11 § 1.1, 4-26-2001]
The purpose of this Chapter is to ensure that adequate lighting is provided in commercial and industrial areas of the City and also to ensure that such lighting does not spill over onto adjacent residential areas. New lighting technologies have produced lights that are extremely powerful, and these type lights may be installed in a manner creating problems of excessive glare and light trespass. Excessive glare can be unnecessary, annoying and cause safety problems. Light trespass reduces everyone's privacy. This Chapter is intended to reduce the problems of improperly designed and installed outdoor lighting. It is intended to eliminate problems of glare and to prevent or curtail light trespass.
